How to catch Connecting Flights?

Please make sure you ask the following questions when having connecting flights on your itinerary. How much time do you have between two flights? Do you need to take out and recheck your baggage to the next flight or will that be done automatically?

If you’re catching a domestic connecting flight by the same airline, and most often affiliate airlines, they may check your luggage through to the final airport. Please ensure you request airport staff to check your luggage through to final destinations wherever possible.

If you buy two separate tickets, however, you should always budget for more time, as you don’t have the reliance on the airline to make sure you connect.

If your connecting flight is to another country, you may have to re-check your luggage and go through immigration and security scanning at the layover airport. Also, please research and get familiar with the layout of the stopover airport. Some airports may only have a terminal or two that requires only a short walk, however, at some larger airports, you may have to take a shuttle bus or have a long distance walk to catch your connecting flight (and there is always the possibility that your flight’s gate or terminal may change).

On the day of your flight, you may also want to check ahead to make sure your flights are scheduled on time. We strongly recommend you reconfirm your flight with the relevant airline and ask for their latest advice regarding your concerns.
